Breaking New Ground!
You may have noticed some heavy machinery and a few scenery changes around the Pinewoods building lately at Manning Park Resort.
The Resort is expanding with a 3500 square foot addition to the side of the Pinewoods building, large enough to accommodate up to 200+ people at a seated function.
Work started last Wednesday with local Hope contractors, Barclay-Fletcher and Tri-West contracting.
“We want to hire locally as much as we can,” says Kevin Demers, owner of Manning Park Resort since 2013.
This is a growing demand for a function room of this size for group meetings, conferences and weddings.
Accommodation manager, Leanna Vazeos is looking forward to the expanded capacity, “We have 24 weddings booked this year, and more requests come in for larger facilities that we weren’t able to accommodate before. Our previous room capacity was 100 in winter.
“We are so excited that this allows us to accommodate larger groups for weddings,” she says. “It sounds like a beautiful room and we look forward to the bridal party room above it for the pre-wedding preparations too! ”
Kevin Demers points out, “There hasn’t been any new construction at Manning for many years. This sends a message that we are growing.”
The work will continue through the summer, with an estimated completion time of Fall 2016. An artist’s rendition of the addition will soon be available on the company website.
With the added function space, along with the full Resort amenities, including a variety of accommodations, restaurant, pub, swimming pool and recreational activities, Manning Park Resort is a great venue to bring your corporate meeting, school group or wedding, in a beautiful natural setting!
